► LAUNCH 2 : MENDOTA, ILLINOIS TO LINCOLN, INDIANA - 12/30/2012
I retrieved 769 photos from the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS covering the time the balloon took off until landing. Hundreds more were taken as it sat on the side of the road, including one of the license plate of the truck that stopped to take a look. The two AA lithium batteries had plenty of juice left over.
The PowerShot A3300 IS died in 2 hours and 11 minutes after taking 263 photos. The quality of the photos is clearly higher and there is little lense flare or ghosting. In fact, the sun rays appear much nicer and more defined in these photos than compared with the A1100 IS. The experiment of setting up the camera for portrait shots was a success.
