NEAR SPACE BALLOONING - STRATOSPHERIC PHOTOGRAPHY

VIDEO

LAUNCH 2 : MENDOTA, ILLINOIS TO LINCOLN, INDIANA

The GoPro Hero 2 lasted only 3 hours of Launch 1 and the lense was fogged over for much of the trip. This time, hooked into an external battery pack and using a 64gb memory card, the camera captured the entire flight clearly. In fact, it recorded us as we drove up to retrieve the payload box. The lense did not fog over. It seems removing the plastic lense covering worked. However, the quality of the video in low light conditions is still lacking. The FOV (field of view) was set to Narrow, however, in comparing the video to Launch 1, it seems bettery quality can be achieved with a Medium FOV.
